Phippen Museum of Art of the American West, 4701 N Highway 89. Resembling a rustic ranch house from days gone by, the Phippen Museum contains an outstanding collection of historic art and artifacts depicting the American West. Artists include Joe Beeler, Olaf Weighorst, and many others. Open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sunday 1p.m. - 4 p.m., and closed Mondays.
Sharlot Hall - An Arizona history adventure, 2 blocks West of the Courthouse on Gurley. There are three acres of exhibits, gardens and historic buildings, including the first territorial Governor's Mansion. Open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Smoki Museum - Native American Artifacts, 147 N Arizona Street. The Smoki Museum was built as a replica of a Hopi Pueblo. It holds a collection of prehistoric artifacts including beautifully woven baskets, arrowheads, stone tools, pottery, painted murals, photographs and more. Open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. through 4 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Heritage Park Zoo - 1403 Heritage Park Road (off Willow Creek Road). A wonderful rescue facility where most residents have been injured, orphaned, or perhaps imprinted with humans, and are unable to survive in the wild. Tickets are $6.00 for adults, $5.00 for seniors 65 and up, children from 3-12 are $3.00. Family memberships (grandparents and grandchildren, or parents and children) are available.
